Craig Leipold is an American businessman and sports team owner. He is the founder and owner of the investment firm, Ameritel Corporation. Leipold is also the current owner of the National Hockey League (NHL) team, the Minnesota Wild.
Leipold purchased the Minnesota Wild in 2008, becoming the majority owner and chairman of the team. Under his ownership, the Wild have seen success on the ice, making several playoff appearances and advancing to the Western Conference Finals in 2021.
In addition to owning the Wild, Leipold was previously the owner of the NHL team, the Nashville Predators, from 1998 to 2007. He was instrumental in bringing hockey to Nashville and establishing the Predators as a successful and competitive team in the league.
